Acne |
Most
acne conditions will worsen and increase the chance of scarring, if left
untreated. Advanced acne therapy involves regular clinical acne treatments
and a home skin care regimen using topical medications that are appropriate
for your skin type. This combination will keep your skin clear and your acne
under control to prevent permanent scarring.
There are several treatments, depending on the
severity of the acne. The CosMedix "Purity
Peel" is a very effective acne treatment. Another popular and
effective treatment involves papaya enzyme, followed by glycolic acid to
penetrate the follicle. A Verseo and/or
Oxygen Therapy are also employed in most acne treatments to control bacteria
which contribute to acne flare-ups. |
Acne Scarring
|
When the skin is
injured severely or repeatedly, it forms scar issue that may be thick, hard
and discolored, compared to normal skin tissue.
CosMedix' Purity Peel and
Timeless Peel are very effective in
reducing acne scarring. The
Jessner Peel
alleviates inflammation and discoloration from
acne scarring and sun damage.
|
Anti-Aging
|
Several Peels and
Hydration therapies are used in our anti-aging regimens. The appropriate
treatment is best determined by consultation. Nutrition also plays an
important role in any successful anti-aging program.

Keratosis
|
Keratoses are
rough patches of skin. Most are caused by a combination of age, sun and
diet. Some are harmless, though unsightly; and some are potentially
cancerous.
- Seborrheic keratoses are flat, brownish spots and can be removed by
freezing or with a laser.
- Keratosis Pilaris is characterized by small, hard bumps clustered on
the skin, caused by clogging of hair follicles with skin cells. It typically
affects teens to young adults. It usually decrease or is less
noticeable with age.
- Actinic keratoses are pre-cancerous, characterized by reddish
patches that are often covered with a flaky or scaly grey or reddish skin.
Sometimes the area is slightly raised. Consult a physician to diagnose and
treat the
pre-cancerous forms of keratosis. |
Lentigines
|
Also known as
freckles or "age spots", lentigines are light gold to dark brown in color.
They are caused by genetic and environmental factors, and require light
treatment to be removed. |
Melasma
|
Melasma is a
mask-like skin discoloration which usually appears on the cheeks and
forehead. Also known as "the mask of pregnancy," it is usually
hormone-induced. |

Nutrition & Diet
|
The foods we eat,
and our general nutrition affect our skin's health. Certain foods stimulate
hormones, and the lack of certain essential vitamins and minerals influence
our skin's health and appearance. |
Obagi
Nu-Derm® System |
A three-phase
program that exfoliates, and stimulates the development of new, healthy
cells to diminish fine lines and wrinkles, reduce pore size, increase
elasticity, reduce hyperpigmentation and normalize oil production and skin
moisture. The Obagi program is conducted only under medical
supervision for safe and effective skin renewal.
NOTE:
EBAC does not
offer the Obagi Peel due
to the intense action of
the Obagi Peel on the skin, and the inherent risks associated with it. There
are several safer and less expensive alternatives available today, such as the
Timeless Peel, that are just as, or more effective. |
|
A "European" type
of facial including a massage, warm enzyme masque with steam, deep cleaning
with extraction. It concludes with a cool spray-down of pure oxygen,
and 87 vitamins and minerals.
This treatment may also be combined with a glycolic acid peel, ampuoles, and
our new European fiber masks, consisting of either collagen, Vitamin C, or
skin brighteners.
|
Oxygen Treatment,
Pre- and Post-Surgical
|
Medical-grade
oxygen gas is used in conjunction with vitamins and minerals to nourish and
revitalize skin cells. Lynn Cowie pioneered the Oxygen Therapy
procedure for post-operative cosmetic and laser surgery, and has documented
a significant reduction in recovery time. This consists of seven to
ten consecutive days of treatments to achieve optimal healing. Oxygen
Treatment has also been shown to be effective in treating acne by reducing
bacteria levels in the skin.

|
Microdermabrasion removes
dead skin cells mechanically as it stimulates and rejuvenates skin tissue.
It is used very effectively to reduce acne scarring, large pores, brown
spots, dry/oily and sun-damaged skin. Approved by the FDA, this is one
of our most popular therapies due to it's beautiful final result.

Razor Bumps
|
The
medical term for razor bumps is Pseudofolliculius Barbi. This condition is
easily treated with a consistent, daily home care program. The elimination
of after-shaves and cologne, along with new shaving techniques helps to
improve the condition of the ingrown hairs. Proper use of Glycolic Acid with
a bleaching agent helps to fade away dark spots (post-inflammatory
hyper-pigmentation) that can result from this skin condition.

Revitalight

The Revitalight®
uses specific, single frequency light to combat acne, rosacea, aging and
sun-damaged skin.
The therapy is inexpensive and the results are noticeable after only a few

For the best results, combine a Revitalight treatment with
Microdermabrasion or your favorite
CosMedix peel. The only precaution is to
minimize exposure to sunlight after your Revitalight treatment.

effective treatment for a variety of skin conditions — an exciting
advancement in skin care that's available now at EBAC.

Rosacea is
characterized by many broken capillaries on the skin's surface, particularly
on the cheeks, that give the mild to extreme redness. Left untreated, the
skin may thicken over time accompanied by the development of scar tissue.
Clinical treatments are an important part of
Rosacea management. Oxygen therapy strengthens the vascular pathways,
thereby decreasing overall skin redness and capillary distention. Glycolic
treatments promote a softer, smoother complexion and inhibit skin
thickening, a common symptom of this skin disorder as it progresses.
LED Light Therapy has been shown to be
effective in closing down the superficial capillaries, and decreasing the
redness associated with rosacea. For best results, clinical treatments
should be performed on a monthly basis.
Rosacea also responds very quickly to a
topical home care program consisting of a Glycolic Acid Cleanser, a Basic
Cleanser, Glycolic Acid Facial Lotion, DermaSilk,
Aloe Cort Cream and a
topical antibiotic, if necessary, for acne breakouts. Internal vitamin
therapy is also recommended. These pharmaceutical-grade products must be
used as instructed.
